Are you a uni or college student, or have friends or family who are students who are passionate about animals?
We are looking for students who would like to be a part of an exciting new initiative that will make a real difference for animals!
Right now in Australia, there are around 11 million hens confined in battery cages. Each given a 'living' space smaller than the size of one A4 sheet of paper, these sensitive birds cannot stretch their wings, feel the sun on their backs, or earth under their feet. But the good news is that now Aussie students can play a major role in helping to end their suffering.
Did you know, that in the US and Canada more than 350 campuses (including prestigious universities such as Harvard, Princeton and Berkley) have gone 'cage free'—and moved away from using battery eggs in their cafes and catering? This is a direct result of student led campaigns, and has spared many thousands of hens from suffering in battery cages. Now it's our turn!
Last year, a student-led campaign persuaded the University of Newcastle to halt its purchase of battery eggs and become Australia's first cage-free campus!
Animals Australia's friendly staff are willing and able to provide students from other campuses around Australia with the resources, know-how and support necessary to turn their uni or college into a cage-free campus as well!
